God Save Baton Rouge

Said friend from last post is hiding in his Mom's office, which has power.  He linked me the outage information on the utility's site and an interactive map showing the current status.  Zoom into Baton Rouge.  The pictures of the damage are also nasty.  I've read that out of the 14 main high power lines, only one remained intact.

I is somewhat saved! I got power back today (as you know), and the food/water situation stabalized a couple days ago. I’m luck though, 35% of the city will be without power for another 14-21 days. The poorer citizens are still needing the MREs (meals ready to eat.. military rations), ice, and water handed out at the one distribution center in baton rouge. So while my situation is better, our city is still pretty smashed at the moment. But there were no people stranded on rooftops, so no one in the national media cares :(.

Now, we just want Ike to leave us alone!
